greetings isogeochemists,
I am analysing the oxygen isotopic composition of bone phosphate
using the method of O'Neil et al, 1994. With fresh bone the major
problem is the interference of organic material resulting in poor
quality silver phosphate to analyse, and significant, variable effects
on oxygen isotope composition. So far I have tried chemical
pretreatments such as soaking in 30% H2O2 and then in NaOH.
However nothing so far has worked for fresh bone.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
