Dear list members,
With some solutions -very poor in N at starting-, we have some problems with
high salt content samples for N-15 analysis with our EA. Such samples seem
to involve an alkaline fusion process that considerably reduce the lifetime
of the quartz furnace tube. I was wondering if anybody on Isogeochem is
using an alternative to the internal quartz tube in the combustion tube; In
particular, I would appreciate some information from users who've tried a
metallic combustion tube (lifetime, setup, influence on measurement's
precision...)
Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jean-Noël
