Sorry if this is slightly off topic...
but I need some help and this is the only forum I am on at the
moment that might be able to come to my aid.
Had a thought provoking chat with my line manager not long ago
about the effect of temperature on the Km of kinases for ATP. He
was of the opinion that they were temperature insensitive and that
this was the case for all substrates in enzyme catalysed reactions.
I sat there and thought about RUBISCO and that there had been
some reports that the Km CO2 was temperature sensitive. I could
not remember the papers or whether the effect was related to the
temperature effect on the solubility, though how that would affect
the kinetics, I was not sure....
or was I just dreaming this all up... it was a while ago!
So if anyone has any views on this I would be grateful for their
thoughts.
Yours in wonder
