CURRENT RESEARCH IN THE TRACE-ELEMENT AND STABLE-ISOTOPE GEOCHEMISTRY OF
MARINE AND NON-MARINE OSTRACOD SHELLS
At the 13th International Symposium on Ostracoda (ISO97) at the University
of Greenwich, UK, this week, an informal meeting of ostracod shell
chemistry workers was held.
Present were Tom Cronin, Patrick De Deckker, Stephen Schellenberg, Elly
Brouwers, Uli von Grafenstein, Mick Frogley, David C. Horne, Nigel
Bridgwater, Caroline Ingram, Brandon Curry, Antje Schwalb, Gary Eisenhauer,
Kevin Keatings, Ilaria Mazzini, Julio Rodrigues-Lazaro, Elsa Gliozzi, Ian
Boomer.
It was suggested that there should be greater information flow amongst all
shell chemistry workers (not just those at the meeting) and I agreed to
take responsibility for facilitating this. As an initial step, I would like
to collect information about:
a) Published and 'in press' papers on ostracod shell chemistry (both stable
isotope and trace-element) in marine and non-marine environments
b) Current shell chemistry workers
For (a), I already have a c.6-page bibliography which I will email to
anyone (not just established workers) who requests this as a MS Word file
attachment. However, I need to make sure that this is complete and
up-to-date, so once you have read it, please email to me details of any
omissions.
For (b), if you are a current shell chemistry worker, please email to me
the details requested below if you wish to be included in the list that I
am compiling;
Name
Instituition (full mailing address)
Email Address
Web page
Techniques used
Current research interests
PLEASE KEEP INFORMATION ABOUT TECHNIQUES USED AND CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS
VERY BRIEF.
My eventual aim is to place this information on a web page and update it on
a regular basis. In the meantime, however, I will gladly make it available
to anyone who requests it.
PLEASE SEND YOUR REPLIES DIRECTLY TO ME AND NOT TO THE LIST.
THANK YOU.
