Hi all -

January 18 is one of the state-sponsored In-Service days. Some schools have
planned to use this as a staff professional development day, while others
will run a normal class schedule.

There are three DOE/VISMT-sponsored events that address different
Information Technology topics on January 18.

The details of the day and registration forms are available at
http://www.state.vt.us/educ/inservice/01_02_inservice_index.html.

The three technology-related sessions are:

Federal Funding and State Initiative - an update on the new federal
requirements and their implications for technology planning in Vermont

Marco Polo - Internet Content for the Classroom - a hands-on session using
the outstanding curriculum resource.

Use the Library: The Vermont Virtual Library - another hands-on session for
school staffs to get familiar with this comprehensive and FREE resource. A
statewide license purchased through VISMT, DOE, and the NICI Library has
made this huge online library of resources available to all Vermont
educators.

All three of these sessions will take place in the Southeastern side of the
state. The location will be finalized soon.

Once again, to register, visit

Romond at 828-0064 or email to [log in to unmask] for more information.
