Sigurd,
I have used <http://www.projectorcentral.com/> in the past in
researching projector possibilities and have found it very useful. It
contains reviews and such but also called "Buyer's Guide" that helps you
determine exactly what will work best for your situation.

Does anyone have suggestions for reliable, decent quality, relatively
low cost, projectors to be used with PCs? I'd like something that can
project at least,800x600 resolution, preferably a bit higher. What
features do you consider, most important?,Also, does anyone have
experience with SmartBoards (from Smart Technologies)?,Can you suggest a
preferred vendor? I'll be applying for one of the "education, grants"
(seems structured sort of like an almost-guaranteed discount of
20-25%,if one writes a statement about how the equipment will be
used).,Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
