1998 Workshop on

"Learning about Learning:
Strategies to Improve Your Teaching"

Thursday, January 8, 1998
Living Learning Center, Room 115 Commons
8:00 - 4:30 p.m.

--------------------------------------------------------

We all know that the hman brain is a voracious learner,
capable of processing, storing, manipulating and
generating great amounts of information. We also suspect
that certain instructional techniques make better use of
the brain's capacity for creative learning than others:
The question is, which ones?

We invite you to join us in a one-day workshop examining
the implications of recent brain research on college
teaching practices. We will not only study recent
cognitive research, but participate in adapting this
knowledge to our own classroom settings.

The workshop leader is Jeffrey M. King from the Center
for Higher Education at the University of North Texas.

Plan to be our guest for a lunch served in the
Weathervane.

"Learning About Learning" is sponsored by:

The Graduate College, University Training and Development,
and The Committee to Promote Teaching Excellence: Pam Brown,
