POSITION:       Senior Consultant, Instructional TechnologyEducational
Telecommunications              Unit

Position #1131

MINIMUM ANNUAL SALARY:  $45,000

Broad Scope of Position:
The Consultant will assist Colorado school districts, BOCES and RTACs
(Regional Technology Assistance Centers) in the integration of technology
into their standards based curriculum through the development and
implementation of effective long-term technology plans which are integrated
into district, BOCES, RTAC and other consortia strategic planning processes.

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Ability
1. Advanced knowledge and experience in integrating educational technology
into a standards-based curriculum.
2. Documented expertise and school or district level experience (or
equivalent) in:
· providing centralized and site-based planning in the integration of
educational technology into a standards-based curriculum;
· planning and implementing school, district or regional educational
technology programs focused on student achievement;
· providing professional development programs in the integration of
educational technology into a standards-based curriculum; and
· providing schools and districts with technical assistance to effectively
implementing the above.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree.  A minimum of five years of classroom instruction in
a public school setting (or equivalent).
2. Supports team direction and is a team player.
3. Works independently based upon established work plan.
4. Has excellent interpersonal skills.
5. Can travel throughout Colorado to work with school districts, BOCES and
RTACs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Working with Colorado school districts, BOCES, RTACs and other consortia
in the development and implementation of locally developed, long-term
technology plans.  This includes:
· conducting workshops (local and regional) on technology planning for
district, BOCES and RTAC staff;
· facilitating district and BOCES planning activities;
· distributing information on technology planning and;
· assisting in the development of cde’s technology web site.
2. Working with Colorado school districts, BOCES, RTACs and other consortia
in the integration of technology into their instructional programs.
3. Assisting Colorado school districts, BOCES and other consortia in the
development and implementation of  effective professional development
programs for the integration of technology into their standards-based
curricula.
4. Assisting in the planning and implementation of cde in-service and
information dissemination strategies, programs and activities.
5. Serving as a liaison between cde and groups interested in the
integration of technology into district, BOCES and RTAC instructional and
management programs.
6. Assisting Department staff in the design and implementation of planning
and training programs.
7. Other duties as assigned.
