Note: I'm researching the term eco-gastronomy, which was coined by the Slow
Foods movement and works to preserve seed biodiversity, cultural heritage,
and the pleasures of eating good food in good company. In the presentation,
I will present my research thus far and talk about how the eco-gastronomy
term relates to Vermont foods. I will present my research thus far and talk

*CKP@UVM*: *Battle of the Campus Chefs* 6-8pm-- Grand Maple Ballroom
The ultimate competition, eight chefs pair up with student groups to create
a dish that will be judged by a panel and the audience. This kick-off event
for the Summit will prove to be entertaining and delicious, all for a good
cause! Different students groups will work with their chefs to create an
appetizer, salad, or dessert that will be judged on categories such as use
of local ingredients, originality, taste, and so on. The winner receives a
trophy to bring back to their dining hall and the title of “UVM Top Chef”!
The audience will count for half of the votes, so come and support your
favorite campus chefs and students groups by eating the best that they have
to offer! Admission to the event is a $4 donation to Campus Kitchens at the
door.

the prime growing season in Vermont! Whether you are interested in food
systems, integrated pest management, landscape horticulture or apple
production, there is the right course in the perfect location! Learn more
about these opportunities and meet the professors who are a part of these

resources available to you in Vermont? Bring your questions to the New
Farmer Q&A with Mandy Davis from Agricultural Development Services at the
Intervale Center and Ben Waterman from UVM’s Center for Sustainable
Agriculture.
Mandy and Ben will answer questions and provide guidance for people looking
to:
- Work on farms this summer
- Figure out what to study at UVM that will help them pursue agriculture
after graduation
- Apply for an incubator program (and prepare to apply for one)
- Access business planning, financing and land access services
- Give us feedback or information about services that are missing that
they need
- Just chat with a couple of service providers about available resources
in Vermont and other states

that delicious foreign cuisine we call curry. You will also learn everything
there is to know about curry; from its history to its medicinal benefits.

Join us for our annual charity fundraising supper! We will have a sampling
of food from local businesses all over Burlington including Chicken
Charlie’s, American Flatbread, Domino’s and Magnolia. UVM’s a cappella
groups will also perform! Tickets are $5 for an all-you-can-eat feast, and
every penny goes to the Lund Family Center. Come to eat, or contact Holly (
