Friends,

The Student Government Association (SGA) has reached the end of one of
several major enhancement initiatives. Now hanging over the main reception
area of the SGA office is a metallic sign that proudly reads "STUDENT
GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION." This sign was created by local metal work artist
Kat Clear.

Kat has worked closely with the City of Burlington on creating unique metal
works that include a large bike lock rack and the crown for the city. She
has also worked with the Davis Center creating signage such as the
international welcome at the entrance of the Davis Center. Based on her
personal commitment to supporting the local economy and shared belief in the
ecological and social justice mission of UVM, the Davis Center and the Ram/
Vincent-Bryan administration, we selected her as lead for the sign project

On the horizon SGA is looking ahead to:

*Creating a TV Lounge*, with an interactive multimedia system for
entertainment and programming.

*Visual updates to the SGA Presidential Conference Room* which will reflect
the work of the ten generations of SGA Presidents and Vice-Presidents who
have contributed to the vision of the Davis Center and have ensured a space
for student organizations in the building.

*Renovations & dedication of the Gormley Conference* *Room* in memory of an
SGA Senator who lived a short yet remarkable life in service to other and is
a shining example of leadership and compassion. This room will highlight
artwork from local artists and furniture crafted from wood grown though an
ecological sustainable practices.

In keeping with the Student Centered vision for the Davis Center and SGA, we
would like to incorporate student art in the club space. We would love to
hear from student artists interested in donating their artwork to this
space. Interested student artists should send an e-mail to [log in to unmask]
