Greetings Vermont RPCVs,
On October 22^nd (Wednesday) UVM and Peace Corps will be hosting an
Around-the-World event up at UVM. There will be 25 tables for RPCVs to
create simple displays about their service country and we will invite
the general public, UVM folks, and Peace Corps folks to attend.
This is the evening schedule of events- the Around the World event is
the second one listed:
*6:30 P.M. -- 7:45 P.M.*: Round-Table - International Development and
the Role of the Peace Corps. Questions to be considered include: What
are the most effective methods of promoting economic development around
the world? What should be the role of the U.S. in promoting economic
development? What is the role of the Peace Corps in this? What have been
personal experiences of the participants in this regard? How can new
challenges such as health risks and terrorism be best addressed? This
conversation will be moderated by Governor Howard Dean with three
Coverdell Fellows, including audience Q&A (Room 216, Living and Learning
Complex at UVM).
7:45-9:00 P.M.: Reception for Governor Dean with Coverdell Fellows,
returned PCVs and audience -- combined with Peace Corps Around-the-World
event with Returned Peace Corps volunteers hosting information tables
featuring countries of service (Fireplace Lounge, Living and Learning
Complex at UVM).
