Join us for a Faculty Professional Development Workshop led by Connecting Differences, LLC<http://www.connectingdifferences.com/#:~:text=Connecting%20Differences%2C%20LLC%20is%20a,inclusion%2C%20and%20cultural%20agility%20development.>.
The goal of this series is to increase faculty's cultural competence in the classroom and support a more diverse STEM learning environment. The majority of the workshop will focus on ways in which transformative education goals may be reflected in curriculum, pedagogical strategies, and activities and assignments.
These four opening workshop sessions are a combination of both experiential and cognitive learning - emphasizing learning by doing. Two of the sessions are designed with a focus on supporting traditionally under-represented STEM faculty in their work. The invited facilitators, Malii Watts Witten and Tatyana Fertelmeyster, have extensive experience with higher education, engaging around issues of intercultural communication, diversity, equitable pedagogy and inclusivity.
