In particular, the Casadevall lecture, co-sponsored by EWB and CDAE,
is right up our alley:

As engineers, we can serve at the forefront of policy formulation if
we so choose, and the more we know, the better.  Our legislative
branch is woefully underrepresented by scientists and engineers (vast
majority are lawyers), while the overwhelming majority of China's
legislature consists of engineers!

Any of you in CS16 && Monday's lab:  If you wish to attend the
Casadevall, drop me a note and we'll make alternative arrangements vis
a vis tomorrow's practicum.
