Given the weather Sunday night's meeting wasn't a whopping
success, but we did get a few things done. There will be a working
meeting Thursday Morning at 8 AM in the Given Atrium. (Sterling
chapter excused). Despite the small turnout, we made the ff
decision.
1. Since not everybody is interested in defraying costs for the trip, a
committee of Fred, Tom and an elected student will decide who
gets trip costs defrayed by fund raising, and how much activity we
will expect in the fund raising.
2. We need to have the concert date set asap and we would like
Jon to consider April 1st or 8th as dates with a good lead time for
advertising. The last thurs in March follows spring break week and
we worried that we couldn't advertise the week before.
3. A pr committee with David, Sarah and Fred will get some basic
description out by Wednesday.
4. We have a working time line and need to get cranking on the big
evetns: concert, car wash, pr, and earth day.
5. Darren will represent us on Monday March 1 in a discussion with
teachers and parents in the South Burington School District.
6. Fred has gone ahead and told travel agents to look for a block of
ten tix for 5/11 to 5/21. We have a reasoanble expectation that ten
will go. If you have not given Fred the $150 deposit, or talked to
him about what other means may be employed to assure your
ticket, you will be taking your chances on seats being availale on
the same flight and at the same price after this Friday. That is,
Fred plans on securing the best deal on the ten tickets by Friday,
March 5th. After that, those without a deposit or a discussion with
Fred will be taking a chance on having to be aadded to the group,
later and it will be hard to guarantee the identical trip tix as the first
ten. First ten include Sandoval, Durham, Schmidt, Bloom, Nicholson,
Oppeheimer, Abby Ausen, David Chappel, David Rice and John
Louchheim. Fred is ready to add Joda Hodge, Heather BAuman
and Kate CRosby as soon as we can come to some agreement
about deposit. (c/o Fred Schmidt, CRS, UVM, 207 Morrill, Burl.,
VT 05405-0106). There are others who have expressed sincere
and sustained interest, but I haven't had any information on where
the deposit is or what individual arrangements can be made to
assure that Fred doesn't become responsible for an unused ticket.
