Dear Fellow Isotopists,

RBS 50 is an active and strong detergent which means in most cases a
moderate dilution in water (1:20 to 1:10) is sufficient to remove any
contamination from glass and metal surfaces (which means that you
don't have to scrub; for persistent contamination increase the
temperature of cleaning solution and place in an ultrasonic bath when
feasable).

For the analytical chemists (and the environment) is sports the added
advantage that it is phosphat and EDTA free. Like DECON 90 it was
initially developed to remove radiochemical contamination (e.g.
on lab. glassware), hence the high detergent activity.

In Great Britain, Pierce&Warriner (UK) stock RBS 35 -but not RBS 50-.
On the continent, RBS 50 can be obtained from ROTH Feinchemikalien
(Karlsruhe, Germany). DECON 90 can be purchased from BDH/Merck.

Hope this helps.

Happy cleaning,
                                Wolfram
