Dear All,

Dr. M. P. Verma pointed on "wrong chemistry" in paper:
Experimental determination of carbon isotope equilibrium
fractionation between dissolved carbonate and CO2,
by S. Halas, J. Szaran and H. Niezgoda, GCA 61(1997)2691-95.

I would like to note here that our calculations are OK for the
solution used in the experiment, which means that our results
at least for low T range are good within the error limits indicated
in our paper. It should be noted here that our solution
significantly differs from the sea-water and this may result the
mentioned discrepancy between our values and those calculated
by Dr. Verma ???????

As you may be convinced from recently published Answer on
Comment by Dr. Verma, our calculations are OK , so you may
safely use our experimental data of CO3 - CO2 fractination.

Greetings to All, Stan
