Research Specialist in Life Sciences

The Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Illinois has an opening for a Research Specialist in Life Sciences.

Excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join an expanding mass spectrometry laboratory.  With proven GC (LC a plus) experience, you will be joining a team performing studies on protein and amino acid metabolism, and will use GC-MS to carry out routine and non-routine analyses.   The ideal candidate will have a masters degree, more than 3 years GC-MS experience (preferably for measurement of stable isotopes), and a strong knowledge of high throughput methodologies. Other duties will involve vacuum technology, data handling, statistical analyses, sample collection and preparation, and laboratory management.  In addition to contributing to existing research and commercial projects, you will be encouraged to propose research projects in your own areas of expertise.   Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  This is a full-time, 12-month basis, non-tenured academic professional position.
