Dear colleagues:

Boz Wing (McGill) and I would like to draw your attention to

“Session 20f: Multiple Isotopes of an Element, Multi-Elemental Isotopes of a Compound, and Multiple Isotopologues of a Molecule (M3)” in 18th Annual Goldschmidt Conference to be held on 13 - 18 July 2008 in Vancouver, Canada.

The session aims to highlight and explore the relationships among multiple stable isotopes of the same elements (e.g. δ18O and ∆17O for O, δ34S, ∆33S, and ∆36S for S), among multi-elemental isotopes of a compound (e.g.

δ34S and δ18O for SO42-, δ15N and δ18O for NO3-, δ56Fe and δ34S for FeS2, δ30Si and δ18O for SiO2), and among multiple isotopologues of a molecule (e.g. 12C16O16O, 12C16O18O, 13C16O18O for CO2, 14N14N16O, 14N15N16O, 15N14N16O for N2O). The session will cover diverse research vanguards in the natural sciences, all driven by innovative analyses and interpretations of M3 systems. We especially invite contributions from observational, experimental, and modeling studies with topics ranging from physical chemistry, chemical synthesis, microbial metabolic processes, Earth systems history, atmospheric chemistry, early Earth, and planetary exploration.

The Abstract deadline is March 1st, 2008. You can also find info for abstract submission at:

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Best,
