I am interested in carrying out stable isotope analysis of kaolins
and associated minerals in order to determine their temperatures of
formation. Also, some form of dating is needed so as to reconstruct
the depositional environments and the stratigraphic sequence of the
region. It should be noted that thes kaolina are associated with
manganiferous and ferrugenous shales of the Transvaal Supergroup
(early Precambrian) and occur in a locally developed basin.
