Bioelements

Hello,

I'm a graduate student undertaking a body of studies in stable
isotopes as they apply to biogeochemistry. In studying the
methodology behind the mass spectrometry of stable isotopes I
have found it difficult to find articles, books, papers which describe
the best combinations of mass spectrometry devices (Dual vs
Continuous Flow; FAB vs EI, MALDI etc; and Double focusing
Mass analysers vs Quadrupole, TOF etc) for stable isotope
analysis of the light bioelements (HONCS).

I have several books by Bowen, 1988, 1991. "Isotopes In the earth
sciences" and "Isotopes and Climates".

One by David S. Schimel "Theory and Application of Tracers" 1993.

One by Coleman and Fry "Carbon Isotope Techniques" 1991.

One by F.A. Mellon and B Sandstrom "Stable Isotopes in Human
                                                                    Nutrition" 1996.

Yet I would appreciate any information on commonly available text
or advice on MS methods for Stable Isotope analysis which
compare the applicability of various types of MS to Stable Isotope
 Ratio MS.

 Thank you
