July 20 (Reuters) - Thermo Electron Corp. on Thursday said it acquired UK's
GV Instruments Ltd., a manufacturer of isotope ratio mass spectrometers,
for about $21 million (11.6 million pounds), subject to a post closing
adjustment.

The deal enables Thermo to offer additional solutions in high precision
isotope ratio determination used in earth sciences, medical and life
sciences applications, the scientific and lab equipment maker said in a
statement.
