Dear colleagues and friends
This is for those of you interested in tree rings.
We have the pleasure to invite you to the International
Dendroecological Fieldweek 2008 organized by the WSL. It will take
place from 14 to 20 September 2008 in the Loetschen Valley
(Switzerland), a scenic Swiss alpine environment. The topics will
cover the full spectrum of dendrochronological issues
(dendroclimatology, dendroecology, dendrogeomorphology,
dendroarcheology ...) and foster cross-disciplinary links. Each topic
will include keynote lectures, field work and workshops in small
groups. All fieldweek participants are expected to present a poster of
their work and there will be ample opportunity for discussion.
The fieldweek is particularly open for young researchers (beginners,
PhD students, Postdocs) worldwide from all fields of tree ring
research. Participation will be limited to a maximum of 40 people.
The fee will be about 350 Euro including conference registration,
accommodation and meals. It will not include travels from and to the
Loetschental. A small number of grants will be available.
The deadline for application is 30 April and successful applicants
will be notified in May.
Registration is open now! Please got to
http://www.wsl.ch/fieldevent/. There you can find an on-line
registration form, more detailed information and some impressions of
last year's FW.
We are looking forward to meeting you in Switzerland!
