Cologne (UoC), which I am posting on behalf of Prof. Patrick Grunert, who
is leading the new Working Group on Micropalaeontology & Palaeoecology at
the Institute of Geology and Mineralogy.

The project's title is „Benthic foraminifera in contourite drift systems“
and it will involve analyses of oxygen and carbon stable isotopes of
benthic foraminiferal tests from the Atlantic Ocean. The project is funded
by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).

faunas under the influence of bottom currents in the Atlantic Ocean
»» Develop and test palaeoceanographic proxy methods for bottom current
reconstruction from benthic foraminifera
»» Both Ph.D. researchers are expected to work jointly on this project

»» M.Sc. in Micropalaeontology or closely related field
»» Skills in foraminiferal taxonomy, statistical analyses and/or
geochemistry of foraminiferal tests

The position is available from October 1, 2018 on a parttime basis (75%).
It is limited to 3 years. If the applicant meets the relevant wage
requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on
remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
