No experience with WildBlue, but typically you get much higher latency
with satellite-provided Internet service, which will cause issues with
latency-sensitive services - VoIP, real-time gaming, or other "chatty"

Cisco's VPN concentrator product, which is is being used as an IPSec
VPN. It will probably be a fair amount slower, as they suggest. I'm
not sure I understand why so-called "SSL VPNs" (actually web application
gateways) would be any better, though.
