An updated version of Symantec Antivirus for Windows is now available for
download:

http://www.uvm.edu/software/

Version 10.1.0.401 fixes a severe vulnerability in the Symantec Antivirus
10.x family of products. Details on the vulnerability are available here:

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/security/Content/2006.05.25.html

Versions of Symantec Antivirus prior to 10.x (7.x-9.x) do not contain this
vulnerability. Users of all previous versions are, however, still
encouraged to upgrade at this time. Earlier antivirus software releases
do not provide adequate protection against modern malware threats.

If you have any questions or issues with this upgrade, please contact the
CIT Helpline via email at [log in to unmask] or via telephone at 656-2604.

Thanks to all in the IT community who helped to test this release this
past week.
