UVM's Oracle calendar server has reported corruption in its event
database. I need to shut the calendar server down and repair the database.

I would like to do that work this evening between the hours of 10pm and
1am.

This will affect all forms of access to the calendar server:

o Calendar client software on worstations
    o Web-based access via https://calendar.uvm.edu
    o Calendar-sync'ing software for handhelds
o Web pages providing info from the calendar server

I am very sorry for the short notice; the database corruption just
appeared in the logs this morning.

If the proposed outage (10pm to 1am this evening) will cause a
significant problem for you, please respond to me as soon as possible.

[Please excuse the multiple postings ...]
