Konnichiwa! Japanese House Members,
If you have a particular event from the Lane Series you would like to
attend for FREE, please let Corson-sensei know by this Wednesday noon
by sending an e-mail to [log in to unmask]

Here is the detail from Professor Dennis Mahoney. Please contact him
<[log in to unmask]> for questions.

In brief, the Global Village has worked out an arrangement with
the Lane Series to pre-buy 10 tickets for all the available fall
semester offerings (the one exception being the Frederic Chiu
recital on Friday, October 6th, for which tickets are not
available, unfortunately). We, in turn, propose that each house
will have the option of selecting the one event for which 10
tickets will be available free of charge to house members. Here is
the web site with descriptions of the events and the artists:
http://www.uvm.edu/laneseries/. One event, the Musicians from
Marlboro concert, is on the Friday evening of the Thanksgiving
recess, November 17th; here John and I thought that these 10
tickets could be made available to International Students who
might not be going anywhere over Thanksgiving. Other than that, we
would welcome your collegial help (with input from the students
in your House, of course), as to which event, if any, you would
like to select. In the event that more than one House chooses the
same event as
"1st choice," could you please consider 2nd and 3rd choices as
well? Hopefully, with a bit of flexability and good will we can
divide these events among the 9 houses in such a way as to please
most of you, if not everyone.

Thank you,
Kazuko Suzuki
