INTRODUCTORY SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT TRAINING (2+1)
March 24 and 25, 2008 and April 1, 2008
Vermont Technical College
Randolph, Vermont
Old Dorm Conference Room

9:00 - 4:00 p.m.


This three-day training is for beginning employment specialists to obtain a
practical understanding of the values, philosophies and practices of the
supported employment process.  Attendance at all three days is strongly
encouraged.  The third day will be a follow-up after people have had 
time in the field to practice.  There is a $75.00 registration fee to 
cover costs.  Lunch will be on your own. 

Topics will include:
- Overview of Supported Employment
- Getting to Know the Person (Assessment)
- Assisting an Individual in Finding a Job (Job Development)
- Knowing the Worksite and its Culture (Job Analysis)
- Choosing the Right Job (Job Match)
- Helping a Person to Begin Work (Job Placement)
- Supporting People to Work (Job Training)
- Keeping the Job (Follow Along)
