Our Deputy CMO asked me to do a search for literature on or examples of physician report cards. He's talking about individualized information on length of stay, readmissions, insurance denials, etc.  He wanted physicians to be able to see how they compared with others and how they were helping to meet institutional goals.

Using the phrase physician report card$ or the heading exp Physicians and other headings like Benchmarking, exp Quality Assurance Health Care, Work Performance, and terms for the specific things he mentioned wasn't very helpful.  As you can probably guess, I came up with a bunch of articles on consumer reviewing of physicians, online or otherwise.  I searched Medline and CINAHL and will probably do a little on Google when I get some more time.

If you have any ideas for doing a better search, please let me know.  I'd also appreciate knowing if your institution has anything like these physician report cards.
