I recommend that you visit your local Foundation Center collection at
your public library.  The Foundation Center publishes directories
that describe the grantmaking programs of foundations and corporations,
and it also cooperates with a network of collections across the country,
one of which is at the Philadelphia public library.  You can use these
directories to identify funding sources with an interest in funding your
type of project.  This collection will also have books and other resources
on government grant sources and proposal writing.  The web address of the

Need advice--quick visit to web under GRANTS shows bewildering array of
resources...am aware of SLA & HSLC training courses on using these
resources & may not be able to wrest funding from sponsors to do this--I
have a priceless collection of diagnostic images that are coded &
arranged--I want to convert many into slide and CD formats to preserve
these hard copy films--this will take  scanners/digital camera etc etc
since resolution has to be really sharp for usefullness of images--this
educartional resource needs preserving & money to pay for
equipment/labor is not available.  How do I go about looking for a
source of funding via eductional grants (since these resources are used
to educate radiologists and others needing understanding of the imaged
