The Division of Libraries at New York University (NYU) seeks a 
Reference Associate to provide a variety of onsite and virtual 
reference and research services to library patrons; teach information 
literacy classes; participate in term paper clinics; assist with 
content development and maintenance of departmental web sites; 
participate in Science unit department projects and strategic planning 
initiatives and library-wide initiatives.  Reports to the Head of NYU-
Bobst Library's Coles Science Reference Center.
 
The position qualifications are: Master's degree in a related subject 
field; library public service work experience, or equivalent; 
excellent interpersonal, research, and oral and written communication 
skills; ability to interact with a diverse population of students, 
faculty, staff and patrons.  Two years' experience in reference or 
bibliographic instruction in an academic library preferred.   
Familiarity with research methods in the sciences, bibliographic 
databases relevant to academic areas, HTML, and productivity 
software.
