Subject: Obama White House links
Please excuse the Cross-postings
As happens with every presidential transition, the White House pages for the
prior administration were removed immediately following the inauguration
ceremony and replaced with those reflecting the new president. In the past
there has been often considerable delay in finding out where they have been
archived. i am happy to report, likely from lessons learned from past
changes, the links for anything from the Obama White House are already being
forwarded to the new site rather than just resulting in thousands of broken
links.
As an example, yesterday the link for this memo "Steps for Increased Legal
and Policy Transparency Concerning United States Use of Military Force and
Related National Security Operations" was
https://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2016/12/05/presidential-memorand
um-steps-increased-legal-and-policy-transparency
but it now resolves to
https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/the-press-office/2016/12/05/presidentia
l-memorandum-steps-increased-legal-and-policy-transparency
So it appears the Obama White House pages will now be found at
https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/
