The nice thing about SQL is not in reinventing commercial databases but in
using the web to access the databases that one creates with something like
Access. At U of Illinois they use ASP (active server pages) and VBScript
with SQL statements to access home grown Access databases. The engineering
library uses this mostly, but it is filtering out to many of the other
libraries as well. It is a good way to make a thesis database or a
reserves database publically available from a website.
