The Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) will hold the
fourth annual Summer Institute on Data Curation at the University of
Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from June 6th-9th. This year’s event will be
sponsored by the Center For Informatics Research in Science and Scholarship
and the Data Conservancy, an NSF DataNet partner.



This year the Institute has invited sessions from leading specialists in the
management and curation of research data in the Life Sciences. Participants
have an opportunity to engage with domain scientists, data science experts
and information professionals while learning:



§     principles and best practices for data curation activities;

§     partnering with domain scientists and data communities;

§     current metadata and format standards for the Life Sciences;

§     technical aspects of data repository systems.
