GayLynn, if we use a filter or we just delete them all as they come
in (as we do now) we may very well be missing requests that really
fall into the "emergency" category or all other resources have been
exhausted. In the past when there were a few ILLs on the list per
week I always looked at them and we were able to provide quite a few
loans out there. Our profession IS about sharing in many way. My
only question at the time was whether or not Medlib-l had changed
it's focus. Perhaps a good CE course or seminar for MLA or someone
to present would be to show libraries, especially the small and/or
foreign ones who usually do not have access to much, how they can
utilize existing resources to get what they need. As always, as a
last resort Medlib-l is there.

It seems logical that the libraries that might filter out or delete
all ILLs would be the ones with the most resources. This would
seriously diminish our collective capacity to find what we need when
we need it.
