Happy Friday everyone,

I have a copyright question to pose to the group to get your wonderful
expert advice. I tried searching the archives because this has been
brought up before, but I couldn't find what I need. (Maybe the cold
weather has caused my brain to freeze.) My basic questions are: When a
video is purchased by a hospital department, is it ok to make a backup
copy of the video? Also, if it is ok, what about circulating the copy
and keeping the original video in a safe place? What if the video has
Macrovision and says that copying is prohibited? In order to copy an
encoded tape, you would need to have special equipment to bypass the
encryption and that doesn't sound right to me. I certainly wouldn't
have that equipment. I'd like to hear your comments on this subject.
Thanks and have a great weekend!
