   Axxess Information Solutions begins business August 1, 1994
 
The Missouri Library Network Corporation is proud to announce its
new  subsidiary company, Axxess Information Solutions, Inc., will
start  business  on  August  1,  1994.  MLNC's  sales  of  CD-ROM
equipment will be transfered to the new company.
 
Axxess  Information Solutions offers a full line of  Hitachi  and
Todd single, tower and network CD-ROM systems, as well as Pioneer
CD-ROM  changers, which MLNC has been selling to libraries  since
1988.   In  addition,  a number of add-on software  packages  are
available.  In the first year, Axxess plans to expand its product
lines  to  include CD Recordable drives, computers, and  computer
networking   and  consulting.   Purchasing  from  Axxess   allows
libraries  to  obtain equipment from a company dedicated  to  the
special  needs of the library/education field.  They are familiar
with  the  current  uses  of  equipment  in  libraries,  schools,
hospitals and other educational and service organizations.
 
Doug Tremere has been named President of Axxess.  Doug has worked
for  MLNC  since May 1991 as Computer Services Manager.   He  was
responsible for all CD-ROM sales and support.  He also worked  at
OCLC  in  retrospective conversion for 2 years and  at  the  User
Contact Desk for 3 years.  Axxess' Board of Directors consists of
Jean  Eisenman (Chairperson), Univ. of MO-Rolla, Wilson  Library;
Robert Lewis (Secretary/Treasurer), Development Strategies;  Karl
Johnson, Univ. of MO-KC, Bloch School/Cookingham Institute; Nancy
Kaufman,  St. Louis University Law School; Ted Sheldon, Univ.  of
MO-KC, Nichols Library; Susan Singleton, Missouri Library Network
Corp.
 
The  Missouri  Library Network Corporation (MLNC) is  a  not-for-
profit  library services consortium with over 350 members.   MLNC
serves  as  the OCLC regional network for the state of  Missouri,
does training on a variety of topics and offers discounts on many
computer-based products and services for libraries.
