Axxess Information Solutions begins business August 1, 1994
The Missouri Library Network Corporation is proud to announce its
new subsidiary company, Axxess Information Solutions, Inc., will
start business on August 1, 1994. MLNC's sales of CD-ROM
equipment will be transfered to the new company.
Axxess Information Solutions offers a full line of Hitachi and
Todd single, tower and network CD-ROM systems, as well as Pioneer
CD-ROM changers, which MLNC has been selling to libraries since
1988. In addition, a number of add-on software packages are
available. In the first year, Axxess plans to expand its product
lines to include CD Recordable drives, computers, and computer
networking and consulting. Purchasing from Axxess allows
libraries to obtain equipment from a company dedicated to the
special needs of the library/education field. They are familiar
with the current uses of equipment in libraries, schools,
hospitals and other educational and service organizations.
Doug Tremere has been named President of Axxess. Doug has worked
for MLNC since May 1991 as Computer Services Manager. He was
responsible for all CD-ROM sales and support. He also worked at
OCLC in retrospective conversion for 2 years and at the User
Contact Desk for 3 years. Axxess' Board of Directors consists of
Jean Eisenman (Chairperson), Univ. of MO-Rolla, Wilson Library;
Robert Lewis (Secretary/Treasurer), Development Strategies; Karl
Johnson, Univ. of MO-KC, Bloch School/Cookingham Institute; Nancy
Kaufman, St. Louis University Law School; Ted Sheldon, Univ. of
MO-KC, Nichols Library; Susan Singleton, Missouri Library Network
