I took a look at a random Pubmed citation for an article in the January
issue. It looks like this:
Am J Obstet Gynecol. 2007 Jan;196(1):68.e1-6
It looks like we shouldn't miss pages, but will be confusing for some.
What was that reality game show idea again pitting serial librarians
against serial publishers?
I really appreciate that this came up on the list as I had just missed
it when the issue came.

Any thoughts on the ILL aspect... Will the subscription allow for
electronic filling of the ILL request now that the full article is not
available in print?
Also, if you are filling an ILL request you could easily miss the
additional pages. You have to look closely at the bottom of the last
printed page to see the PC icon that alerts you to the online material.

Subject: Amer. J. of OB/Gyn full-text only online now?
Hello all,
I just came across the January 2007 issue of American Journal of
Obstetrics & Gynecology. The cover says that "the PRINT version will
present important research in author-approved "summaries". The
full-length articles can be found ONLINE along with case Reports..."
That means that our users now have to go online to read the whole
article. I compared some print articles with the online version, and the
print is 1-2 pages long, while the full-text online version is 5-7
pages. Also the print version is quite different from the online
version. I also checked in PubMed, where the articles are not fully
indexed yet. The citations give the starting page number for the print
and e-pages, e.g. 29, e1-6.
I would like to know how to best indicate to our users that the print
version is totally different than the online version and contains only
part of the article?
Any suggestions?
Thank you very much,
