VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Educational Media Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Division of Instructional Resources
SALARY: Commensurate with experience, with excellent fringe

OPENING DATE: August 1, 1994
Reporting to the Division Director, this newly defined professional staff
position will provide a wide variety of media services to faculty and students.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Maintain online inventory of audiovisual equipment, programs, and computer
software circulated by the Library;
Produce computer-generated slides, overhead transparencies, videotapes, and
other graphics-related services for academic purposes;
Coordinate use and maintenance of audiovisual equipment for classes,
presentations, meetings and other academic functions held throughout the
College and coordination of policies relating to this service;
Assist with selection and rental of media items;
Assist with providing technical assistance in the use of audiovisual equipment
and microcomputers, as appropriate;
Assist with library planning and budget preparation;
Serve as back-up for Computer Technician, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: B.S. Degree in media-related area. Work experience with wide
variety of audiovisual equipment and media production services in academic
setting. Ability to work independently, and effectively communicate and
work with diverse groups of individuals. Ability to formulate and implement
policies and procedures.
Preferred: Master's degree and familiarity with library work settings.
The Division of Instructional Resources at the Massachusetts College of
Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences provides a wide variety of information
and media-related services, supporting graduate and undergraduate programs
in pharmacy, chemistry, nursing and other allied health disciplines.
