I second Joy's response. The same thing applied to my previous job. What I was doing bore almost no resemblance to the job description. Also, a former assistant looked at what she had been doing, we rewrote her job description, and her position moved up a couple of steps. So, take a few minutes to step back and really look at what your LTA really is doing. And, yes, have her/him document how long tasks take.
