We have a physician on staff who would like to know of any guidelines
(American Academy of Pediatrics, etc.) for changing one-year old toddlers
from breast milk or formula to milk - whole, 2%, 1%, skim, etc. We have
tried MEDLINE, UNCOVER, our pediatric texts, and found nothing specific.
One nutrition text stated they are growing rapidly and do not need to be
on a fat-restricted diet, but that did not seem to suit him. The (very)
few articles that came up & sounded good, upon arrival (there were no
abstracts) dealt with follow-up formulas, not milk. I *hope* this is an
appropriate question for the list. With all the discussion lately, I
almost hesitate to ask!
Please reply to me, not the list!!!!!
Thanks.
