Dear Colleagues,

On March 5, 1999 Reuters Health reported on a preliminary study of echinacea stimulating the immune
system. The researcher is Susan Percival of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural
Sciences. The citation given in the report, American Journal of Public Health 1999;89:308-314, is on
an entirely different subject.

I have searched Medline by author, subject and journal and Pro-Quest Direct which has the
American Journal of Public Health full-text, all to no avail. If anyone knows where this preliminary
study was reported, I would be most grateful.

Thank you,

Rochelle Perrine Schmalz
