Librarian for Psychology and Neuroscience
The Librarian for Psychology and Neuroscience and Liaison to the Duke 
Institute for Brain Sciences will develop and manage the collections for 
and about Psychology, Neuroscience, and Brain Sciences.  S/he will be the 
library liaison to faculty in these areas and provide specialized 
reference assistance and instruction to library users.  In addition, this 
role serves as the User Services liaison to the Electronic Resources Group 
which includes attending Electronic Resources meetings and coordinating 
with User Services librarians to provide feedback and decisions related to 
online content interfaces for databases, electronic journals, and 
electronic books. The position reports to the Head of the Research and 
Reference Services Department.

Salary and rank dependent on qualifications and experience. Comprehensive 
benefits package. 

Required qualifications: Master?s degree from an ALA-accredited program or 
an advanced degree in a relevant subject area.  Familiarity with 
information resources in a variety of formats in the natural sciences and 
engineering, humanities, social sciences and experience with government 
publications; teaching or library instruction experience.  Must be 
flexible and a self-starter; have the ability to work successfully in a 
highly collaborative environment; possess excellent organizational, 
interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills as well as a 
strong commitment to public service.

Preferred qualifications:  Master?s degree from an ALA-accredited program 
and an advanced degree in a relevant subject field.  Three years of 
relevant professional experience and strong academic background in a 
relevant field; experience providing reference service, preferably in an 
academic setting; familiarity with web publishing technologies; experience 
with user and/or usability study methodologies; experience with assessment 
tools and methods; experience with data curation, access and knowledge of 
concepts related to open access.
