Good morning Medlibbers,
My library is small, new, overseas, and much of the collection
consists of donations from United States physicians. This is also my
first time cataloging with NLM.
I have a small stack of materials with no ISBN numbers and "brought to
you by" a pharmaceutical company or name-brand drug. The materials
are usually pocket guides, small specific atlases, etc., often having
little to do with pharmacology. I can't find records of these items
in other libraries.
Before I start original cataloging, I'm wondering if any of you accept
donations of sponsored materials and add them to your collection, or
if the sponsorship immediately makes them suspect. I've been able to
find records for some of our fairly old and obscure materials in other
libraries, but the lack of records for pharm publications seems to be
a constant.
If you don't add them to your collection, what do you do with them?
Many thanks in advance. I will summarize for the list.
Amy
