Duties:

The Florence A. Moore Library of Medicine is one of four libraries
comprising the Allegheny University of the Health Sciences Libraries. It
has an integrated library system and network access to MEDLINE and other
health sciences databases, the Internet and the World Wide Web. The
Reference Librarian is responsible for: identifying and satisfying
information needs relating to patient care, teaching and research; general
reference assistance; instruction in searching literature and library
holdings through online databases; facilitating access to the Library's
network and to the Internet; performing mediated online searches;
contributing to the creation and maintenance of the Library's Web Site;
participating in teaching program.

Qualifications:

M.S. from an ALA-accredited school and three years experience in a health
sciences library required. Familiarity with health sciences references
resources and bibliographic research techniques, including use of the
World Wide Web. Experience with basic microcomputer applications, and with
web development, including HTML coding. Excellent interpersonal and
communication skills. Strong service orientation.
