We have such a serious, repeated problem with NLM Locatorplus that we cannot
use it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and come up
with a solution.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?DB=local&PAGE=First

Using either Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator, we can get to NLM
Locatorplus search screen. We can usually type words in Keyword Anywhere
and click Search. However, almost anytime we click another search option,
such as Title/Subject/Author or a title on a search results screen, we get
the "Your connection to Locatorplus has timed out." This happens in less
than 5 seconds.

This means we can search only by Keyword Anywhere, and even then, not
always. And we can never display a complete bibliographic or MARC record.
Even if we repeatedly reconnect to Locatorplus, this problem persists.

We experience this problem on all PCs in the Library. Though in Saudi
Arabia, we use a dedicated T1 line to Houston, Texas to connect to the
Internet. We have reported the problem to NLM ([log in to unmask]) three
times. The only suggestion they have offered is to clear the browser cache
and history. This has NOT resolved the problems the 3 times they suggested
it.

If you have experienced this problem, and resolved it, please let me know
how. Thank you.
