Good Afternoon!

I'm new to the list and so glad to be here!  I hope all of you can answer 
my question concerning what is the cataloging trend in using Publication 
Type such as Guideline, Atlases, Handbooks, Popular Works, etc?  Also if 
there are archived discussion on this topic, can someone lead me to it?
