Dear Medlibbers - I need your help!
  I've had a question from a client who has had a series of
retinal-vitreous problems (PVD- posterior vitreous detachment, retinal
tear, etc.) in both eyes.  He also has a medium degree of myopia.  He
wants to know if there is any other reason besides the myopia (some
condition, underlying disease, whatever) which could be responsible for
his vitreous-retinal problem.  His doctor says it is the myopia.  My
client is mid-fifty, in good health, low blood pressure, no smoking,
drinking, and is   into health foods.  He rides horses over fences for
sport but doesn't remember ever getting hit in the eye while doing this.
  I've looked  on the Web, Ovid, Dialog, Medline, textbooks, and
everywhere else I can think of.  I can't find anything to indicate any
disease other than his myopia which could be responsible for his problem.
  If anyone has any ideas about any other disease or where to look, could
you please respond to me directly?  T.I.A. from myself and my client.
