This is a summary of the responses I rec'd about multiple editions in a
collection....sorry it's so late.
Thanks again to those who responded!!

From an association:
Reference books: current edition on reference, next to last edition in books if less than 7 years old.
For some annuals, (such as drug books) I keep current edition in reference and previous 2-3 editions in books.

Foreign medical center:
Only keep the latest edition.

From a medical center:
Depending on use, we may keep the two latest editions, if the older edition is not more than 5-10 years old.

From a medical school:
If a title gets a lot of use, we buy every edition and keep the next to last edition.
If a title gets some use, we skip editions and keep the last edition.

From a medical school:
If it's a reference titles, keep the latest on reference & put the last edition in books.
We put the older editions on the booksale cart.

From a pediatric hospital:
We don't keep previous editions of any titles EXCEPT in pediatrics.

From a hospital:
No edition more than 10 years old.
Current edition and immediately preceding edition.

From a hospital:
We don't keep back editions except for the major textbooks - the older editions go in the booksale.

From a hospital?:
I keep the newest in reference and circulate the last edition.

From an association:
We keep everything in our subject area, but no old editions for other subjects.
