Duties
Summary
This position is located VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) in Palo Alto, CA. In this position you will serve as the expert professional information specialist with delegated authority and responsibility for developing, managing, and administering a comprehensive library program and overseeing all aspects of daily operation of the digital library and library programs for the VAPAHCS.

 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
*Provide employee development opportunities
*Collaborate with other team members to develop, manage and provide professional development training
*Develop, manage, and direct an extensive local library program and database
*Establish, implement and review program guidelines, policies, and operating procedures
*Evaluate library programs in terms of clientele requirements and needs
*Oversee activities of library staff
*Track statistics and complete local and national reports
*Serve as expert in searching highly specialized biomedical, nursing and allied health and health management, databases and internet
*Develop and maintain a robust clinical librarianship program
*Develop effective and efficient instruction interventions (one-on-one, small group, webinars, etc.).
